      My hens love it.

This is the second chicken door that I have purchased, the first one works so well that I consider it a necessity for any coop that I have. The first one I purchased is still functioning perfectly.

We have 3 of the coops doors now. They work very well even in cold conditions.

      Top Notch Hardware

I had a basic Tractor Supply coop in my fenced in backyard and for two years I had no issues until I found one of my hens dead in the grass. I have a bald eagle across the way and chalked it up to aerial predation but then lost another, this time with a feather trail straight up into the roost inside the coop. I set out a trap and removed a few predators from the area and for a month everything was okay until I lost two in one night, one killed outright and the other so badly maimed I had to put her down myself. I was at a cross roads. I had one hen and one rooster left and either had to give up the chicken dream or up my game. I did some research on automatic coop doors and checked out the basic guillotine style closers and they all seemed like flimsy garbage with dimensions so small I wasn't sure if my Brahma rooster would fit. After a bit more research I found ghost controls solar powered closer and made the purchase soon after. It is considerably more expensive than the cheaper options but you see where the money went as soon as you open the box. The setup is meant for a proper chicken coop and a proper chicken coop it would have. I moved the old Tractor Supply coop aside and custom designed a setup based around the automatic coop door and finished it a few days before a week long vacation (the big test). I returned from vacation with my flock intact and could not be happier. Thank you ghost controls, without this product I would be struggling with a difficult to remember nightly chore that would inevitably lead to tragedy or the purchase of a different, substandard product. Instead I have a new coop and am considering doubling my flock size.
