Why Invest in a Automatic Coop Door Opener?
Convenience
Everyone is busy today and adding an automatic door opener kit brings some convenience back into your life so that you can continue to do those things you enjoy most such as:
- Attending events for your children such as school events or sports activities in the early evening
- Meeting family and friends out for a coffee or bite to eat
- Going out of town for a day or two on vacation
- Sleeping in late on the weekends, especially in the winter months when it is cold outside and warm in your bed
Keep the Chickens in and Predators Out
All animals that live in a coop are considered prey by some type of predator in our environment. These predators include hawks, foxes, racoons, and even coyotes. An Automatic Coop Door Kit by Coop Controls will never forget that it is dark so the system will always close the door as nightfall approaches, in case you get busy and forget.
Almost all of the birds are born with the innate desire to go into the coop as it gets dark each night. This makes a lot of sense when you realize that most predators begin to hunt around dusk and are often most active just after the sun sets each day. Shutting the coop door each day at sunset is imperative in keeping your birds safe.
Our patent-pending coop door kits won’t keep the predators away from your birds, but they will help keep the predators out of the coop at night by ensuring that the door is closed when it gets dark.
Easy to Install
Most people can install our patent-pending kits using tools commonly found around your home in less than two hours. The entire kit is designed to be weather-resistant and work in almost all environments that you have a coop installed.
Once the system is installed, the battery is connected, and the transfomer is plugged in, your system is ready to go. There are no complicated assembly or programming steps required to get the system up and running.
Once the system is installed, you do have the ability to fine tune your installation by adjusting the delay to open and delay to close settings.
Use it Anywhere
All Coop Controls door opener kits use a battery as the primary power source and include a UL Listed transformer that can be plugged into a standard 110VAC outlet to recharge the battery. The 10 foot wire to connect the transformer to the system control board is included in the kit, but if your power is further away, then you can also purchase AXLV low voltage wire and extend this transformer up to 1000 ft. away from the coop door controller.
Optionally, you can also add our AXDP 10-Watt Premium Monocrystalline Solar Panel Kit and use this to recharge the battery if you are too far from AC power for the transformer, or if you desire to utilize sustainable solar energy instead of power from the grid.
You cannot connect both the Transformer and the Solar Panel at the same time or you will damage the system control board.
