Ghost Controls® offers a range of heavy duty automatic gate opener kits for residential decorative and farm electric driveway gates, including solar powered kits. All our kits are battery-powered with a 12V battery. When determining which battery-powered gate opener kit is best for your decorative swing gate(s) consider looking at the gate weight and length. Each kit has a weight and length chart to help determine if this is a good kit for your gate.
We recommend the DTP1 single gate opener kit for driveway single swing gates and the DEP2 dual gate opener kits for dual decorative gates up to 20 feet in length.
What is considered a decorative gate? A decorative gate can be a gate made from wrought iron, metal, or at times even decorative wood.
For a decorative single swing gate operator, we recommend the Ghost Controls® DTP1 Decorative Single Automatic Gate Opener Kit. This kit includes: one 12V battery, battery box, Two Premium 5-Button Remote Transmitters, installation manual, AC Transformer, and lifetime warranty*. You will need 16 gauge, stranded two-conductor wire to connect the AC Transformer to AC. The AC transformer can be no more than 1,000 ft from the gate.
Don't have access to electricity within 1,000 ft of the gate? Add a 10-watt or 30-watt solar panel to your kit for a solar gate opener system. When going solar we also recommend having two 12V batteries in the battery box of your decorative solar operator system.
The included AXP1 remote transmitter not only is touted for having great range but also has our patented Party Mode® feature. This feature allows you the flexibility to keep your gate open when you have the occasional party!
